More SCREAM 4 Story Details Revealed with Promo Art.

I recently re-watched the Scream Trilogy for the first time in a few years and I forgot how good that series was. I knew I liked it, but it was more fun and entertaining them I remembered. Watching these actually got me more excited for the new Scream trilogy that is being written. I love how all the key players are coming back for the fourth film. Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette are all reprising their roles. The original screenwriter Kevin Williamson will be writing the new films and it looks as if Wes Craven will be back to direct.

Williamson recently offered a couple little story updates on Scream 4 and I like what he’s saying.

''The fourth one is an ensemble. It’ll take place right now, 10 years later, and it’s going to take place in [Sidney Prescott's hometown of] Woodsboro. We’ll have our three main characters, and we’ll be introducing several more.''

We weren’t sure how big the roles of these returning characters would be, but he pretty much says here that they will once again be our main characters. Then they have a new group of cast members that will be joining them.

''We’ll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new castmembers. That’ll take us through the next three.''

Like the first three Scream films, Williamson plans to do the same type of horror spoofing.

''I guess I’ll just have to be very aware of the fact that we’re a ‘4′ and that we’re beating a dead dog. I’m going to make that very apparent in the dialogue. Come on, it’s the age of the remake! And 3-D and all that [other horror fad material], can you imagine what ['Scream' movie-within-a-movie] ‘Stab 10′ is like?''

Awesome. It sounds like he’s gonna have a lot of fun with this, which is great for those that loved the orignal Scream films. I wasn’t too excited about these new Scream films at first, but now I’m lovin’ the idea. I can’t wait to see the opening sequence of the film. If you remember, the opening sequences to the Scream films set the perfect tone for the movies and they were all pretty damn awesome. But it’s going to be hard to outdo Drew Barrymore’s cameo in the first Scream film which pretty much re-launched her career.

What do you all think!?
