This morning I posted the blurry photos of Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow in Iron Man 2. Now I have the much better versions from EW.com. The costume does seem spot on from the comic, but still not sure about Johansson as Natasha. The photo below (via Topless Robot) shows Gwyneth Paltrow who plays Pepper Potts. Obviously there is a bit of Iron Man tech going on there, but not sure if it is simply for the photo or whether Potts gets a suit or an implant as she has recently had in the comic.Still it is all good stuff from the house of Iron Man 2. Can't wait to see it.
What do you think of Johansson as Black Widow?Source. Live for films
Here's Mary-Louise Parker making my Esquire subscription worth every damn penny in the August issue. Now, I don't want to be one of those chauvinistic guys who says a woman's place is in the kitchen, but this is definitely the way to get a man to buy you something nice. Like a toaster oven. Or that frying pan you've got your eye on.NOTE: Pics link to NSFW versions that probably gave Martha Stewart an erection. Also, thanks to Jonah Ray who only reads Esquire for the articles. And the naked women holding pies. Source: The Superficial
Drew Barrymore is directing and starring in Whip It! It is based around the world of roller derby and also stars Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis, Kristen Wiig, and Zoe Bell. USA Today had these photos.
It is a a coming-of-age story starring Juno's Ellen Page as a teenage girl who rebels against her beauty-pageant-obsessed mother (Marcia Gay Harden) and boring Texas town by joining the rough-and-tumble world of roller derby under the name Babe Ruthless.
Barrymore plays Smashley, and Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig is Maggie, her sister in arms on the local Hurl Scouts derby team. It gets its name from the members' green faux-Girl Scout uniforms, complete with merit badges for kicking butt.
The film co-stars Jimmy Fallon as the derby announcer and Juliette Lewis as the leader of rival derby team The Holy Rollers, who finds out a secret that could force her tiny new foe from the competition.
I know that we have seen photos of them before but here are slightly more detailed pics of the costumes and look for Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. Above is Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Below is Mia Wasikowska as Alice (with a white rabbit no less) and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.
As previously mentioned this is more of a sequel to the original tale - Alice, now 17 years old, as she escapes from a snooty party and follows a white rabbit down a hole, back to Wonderland. The White Rabbit is convinced that he has the right girl, the one who had visited the magical land ten years prior. But Alice doesn’t remember her past visit to Wonderland. The creatures of Wonderland are ready to revolt and are hoping/waiting for Alice to help them, but will she? Can she?
Chris Smith (Severance, Creep) has a new film called Triangle, it looks very good in a time twisty kind of way (I posted the trailer ages ago but it was taken down - not sure how long this one will be up). Melissa George (30 Days of Night, Dark City) is the star. You can catch it at the UK FrightFest on 27th August. STYD had the photo. When Jess hits a seagull on a drive to the local harbour, little does she know that it is a harrowing omen of things to come. She sets sail on a yacht with a group of friends and already things are not as they seem - she just cant put her finger on why.
Her suspicions are heightened when the yacht hits a storm and the group is forced to board a passing ocean liner to get to safety - a ship Jess is convinced shes been on before. The ship appears deserted, the clock on board has stopped, but they are not alone. Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one. And Jess unknowingly holds the key to end the terror.
Have a look at the trailer and let me know what you think is the cause of what is going on. I reckon it is some kind of Timecrimes thing. Source: Live for Films

'Some amazing satellite images from GeoEye show just how many people attended Barack Obama's inauguration yesterday (20/01/2009). Is it just me though or would that be what a zombie apocalypse would look like from space? If you've read World War Z you'll know the chapter I'm getting at. Great photos and cheers to Del for pointing them out.'
Here's your first look at the sixth year of Hogwarts! MovieFone has just released the brand new trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is set to hit theaters on November 21. Just below is the first trailer from the film starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Helena Bonham Carter.
We've also gotten our hands on six new images from the film that you can take a look at below. Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
And yet...
As in all wars, life goes on. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate - and lose a few eyebrows in the process. The Weasley twins expand their business. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Classes are never straightforward, though Harry receives some extraordinary help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.
So it's the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter. Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort - and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will bring the magic back to theaters on November 21.
