Mulher simula sequestro e violação.

A 14 de Agosto, na zona serrana do Marco de Canaveses, uma mulher declarou ter sido vítima de carjacking, sequestro, violação e de incêndio à sua viatura. Após investigação, a Polícia Judiciária concluiu que tudo não passou de uma farsa.

Dois meses e meio depois de ter apresentado queixa na Polícia Judiciária da directoria do Norte contra um casal desconhecido, uma mulher de 38 anos foi hoje constituída arguida pelos crimes de simulação e incêndio.

Ao longo da investigação policial, a PJ concluiu que os crimes relatados pela confessa vítima nunca ocorreram, tendo as ofensas corporais sido todas auto-infligidas. Para além de se ter mutilado a si própria, a denunciante foi ainda a autora do fogo posto à viatura, propriedade de terceiros.

A 14 de Agosto, a denunciante foi encontrada nua, próxima de um automóvel em chamas, com o cabelo rapado e várias lesões visíveis no couro cabeludo e hepatomas em múltiplas parte do corpo.

Conduzida a um hospital na zona do Marco de Canaveses, a falsa vítima afirmou ter sido alvo de carjacking, sequestro, tortura e violoção, actos supostamente praticados por um homem e uma mulher desconhecidos, que posteriormente a teriam abandonado sem roupa.

A mulher de 38 anos já foi constituída arguida e incorre em vários crimes de simulação e incêndio.

I'd Wear Them: Nikes Made Out Of Junk.

Gabriel Dishaw is an artist who works primarily in the medium of junk. Like rusty metal sprockets and nuts and bolts. And among other sculptures, he creates shoes with these things.''This piece was a continuation of my previous piece JUNK DUNK (Right) I wanted to attempt this approach again, with a more refined and detailed outcome. I used very little wire and more glue to keep the piece more clean, and less bulky. I also added new details, a hinged tongue and nike logo's on both the tongue and back of the shoe. On previous models I used a real nike sole to build of off. With this piece I started from scratch and build the sole from circuit boards.''Impressive, Gabriel. But there is no doubt in my mind I could dunk in these things. And I don't care if they do cut off all my toes off and give me tetanus -- I don't like standing or talking anyways! I'm more of a lie down and type kind of guy anyways. What? YES I'M STILL IN BED.

Um tribunal sudanês condenou quinta-feira duas mulheres, detidas juntamente com a jornalista Lubna Husein em Julho, a 20 chicotadas cada uma, por vestirem calças de ganga e não cobrirem o cabelo, segundo fontes oficiais.

As fontes explicaram que os advogados das duas condenadas recorreram da sentença emitida pelo Tribunal de Kartum Este, que também condenou as mulheres a uma multa de 250 libras sudanesas (66 euros).

Depois da sentença de quinta-feira, Lubna Husein - cujo caso se tornou famoso dentro e fora do Sudão - explicou aos jornalistas que, quando foi detida, estava com outras 12 mulheres, que também foram detidas num café em Kartum.

Cientistas podem vir a trabalhar em rede similar ao Facebook.

A Universidade de Cornell e seis outras instituições vão investir 12,2 milhões de dólares no desenvolvimento de uma rede social à imagem do Facebook, de modo a "ligar" investigadores biomédicos em vários pontos do país.

Os financiadores da rede acreditam que, ao colocar os cientistas em contacto uns com os outros, a rede incentivará os seus estudos e impulsionará colaborações que podem conduzir a novas descobertas científicas.

A rede, que vai chamar-se VIVOweb, será desenvolvida pela agência de pesquisa médica norte-americana Institutos Nacionais de Saúde.
